Registered Member Posts: 2057 10/24/09 4:44 PM	getting through the foam is the easy part, if you have a sharp blade and take your time. the problem is the stuff behind the foamposite material. the cloth lining, the plastic heel cup, and the biggest issue is the midsole. when cutting out the vents towards the front of the foot you run into the midsole quite a bit and you really cant do anything about it. this isn't your basic midsole material either, it seems to be very dense and rubbery, i'm guessing it adds most of the weight to the shoe. i thought about using a Dremel, but controlling it in such a small area would be difficult and would probably turn out sloppy. i would think a soldering iron would have the same issues, plus a few more of its own. i have one shoe left that i may mess around with, or tear apart completely so you guys can see what i'm talking about. will work for $
