I read a while back Werdum was going to fight the winner of Sylvia/Nog. Any truth to that?

^ Thats what it sounded like, but Nogueira sounded like he wanted Couture instead. Tim Sylvia got baited into trying to get up, it was like Nogueira knew
EXACTLY the way he would try to get up, so he could put him in the GUILLOTINE!! Dang near separated his neck from his body. I was sure Frank Mir was going to
win, but the way Brock Lesnar manhandled him was Amazing. He should've backed up when Mir was on the ground and waited for the ref to stand them up. But he
won other fights on the ground, and thought he could do the same! I could see Mir going for the arms when he was getting pounded and it was just a matter of
time!!
Overall the night reminded me of UFC 1 where the people that knew ground game won! |

No way. While a Lesnar domination would've been the best result, they knew that wasn't going to happen when they booked the fight. Lesnar is still over, and now Mir is someone who just beat Lesnar in the biggest fight of the year so far. He's over as well. It's rumored he was getting paid 250Gs for that fight + a bonus if he won and supposedly he was getting paid more than Mir. How could you not get pissed, even with the slightest bit from that? Just remember Dana isn't just the "president" of the UFC, he's a businessman too.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Loved the main event finish. I figured Nogueira was going to pull a submission from out of nowhere to beat Sylvia.. but when Sylvia kept landing
punches on him I was worried they would stop the fight.
That guillotine was a thing of beauty. Lesnar looked good for having to fight a former heavyweight champion in only his second professional fight. I'll be checking for him to fight in the future. Mir looks to be on the comeback.. hope to see him get a couple more big fights to see if he's really back to old form. We were ![]() ![]() ![]() at Boetsch flinging Heath onto his head for the KO.. and also
at Bradley getting KO'd so badly that he pulled guard on the ref thinking the fight was still going.
Almeida's guillotine on Yundt was impressive too.. considering he got slammed onto his head and instead of breaking his grip he just rolled through to force the tap. ![]() ![]() @ Jeremy Horn pretty much sticking his head under Marquart's arms to get himself choked out. Seems like a night of guillotines.

If this is any indication of the direction the UFC (and MMA in general) is headed, UFC 82 is going to be RIDICULOUS!!
MAIN CARD Champ Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson (for middleweight title) Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo Yushin Okami vs. Evan Tanner Jon Fitch vs. Chris Wilson David Bielkheden vs. Diego Sanchez PRELIMINARY CARD Andrei Arlovski vs. Jake O'Brien Luke Cummo vs. Luigi Fioravanti Dustin Hazelett vs. Josh Koscheck Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson Chris Leben vs. Alessio Sakara Really distraught to see Arlovski dropped to undercard status. Although I'm sure they'll televise his fight on the PPV at some point, not seeing him on the LIVE MAIN CARD is heartbreaking. Hopefully this won't be his last fight. He needs to put on a good display and show Dana he's still worth the big bucks. |

ShannonsCrooks wrote: I can understand Kos though. He's lost two in a row. Not taking anything away from his talent, but you can argue his undercard fight. But Arlovski?! C'mon now, yeah his last fight was a snoozer, but he did get the W and the way the HW division is looking right now, the UFC can't afford to lose another 'contender'.

On another note, I noticed MINOTAURO NOGUEIRA's 'TEAMMMA' sig a few pages back. As lame as I've always labeled online
'teams', I think this would be one I wouldn't be opposed to being a part of.
I've noticed quite a few regulars in this post that pass along a lot of info. Anybody else interested in something, or am I a lone sheep here?! |

With regards to Arlovski......
He is likely not going to resign with the UFC. He has refused every offer he's been given so far. He has one fight left. So basically, the UFC is burying him. He will honor his last fight. On the undercard. If he puts on a show, and he was on the main card, then it would basically be a showcase for him before he switches organizations. And Dana White is not having that. Word is he will go to M1. So we have AA vs. Fedor to look forward to.
