I swear both of these dudes were clean-shaven when the match started.
Straight up, I teared up a little for my guy. Loss or not, that's the best match he has ever played. Ever. Either way, we all just witnessed absolute tennis history. The match itself, Roger's 15th grand slam title, all of it.

During the last set, Federer was pretty much cruising through the games where he had the serve. I knew that Federer wasn't going to lose a game where he had the serve, so it was just a matter of time before he stole one from Andy when he was serving. Sucks for Roddick. Federer definitely didn't play his best tennis today and Roddick still came up short. If he couldn't win today, he never will.. |

I guess Andy didn't want to talk to Johnny Mac. He's letting his emotion out because he didn't want to let it show to the public.

It's unfortunate that Andy lost in this manner. Especially after being so close to being up 2 sets to love.
I honestly thought Roger would blink first, especially after Andy's serve's were still in the mid-130's. He definitely did a lot of good things out there, his backhand down the line was superb and he basically made Roger earn every point. With that being said, I hope he can win it in the coming years. This has to be the greatest day in Federer's life. Not only did he break Pete, he regained the #1 ranking with Laver, Bjorn, Sampras, McEnroe and I believe Santana at the greatest venue in Tennis.. can't get much better than that.

Andy should not hang his head.
He played an excellent match. The thing about sports is someone has to win. Andy lost, but he won. Hopefully he'll carry this confidence into the US Open. Come back from the dead, you left my heart here |

I don't have a problem with arrogance at all; hell, he's now the most accomplished tennis player ever. He just exudes it in a way that isn't really
admirable.
It's like being "classy" is so difficult for him. Maybe it's all a facade and he only does it because he is royalty in a sport of luxury and class. Forgive me for delving so deeply into his personality. I'm not being a hater; I'm just a sociology minor.
At the end of the day, he's one of the best tennis players ever, so, whatever, I guess.

Kiddin Like Jason wrote: You are not alone. Many of those I've talked too that are close to tennis feel the same. He is classy around the media but he does have a lot of trouble giving praise to the other players (much like the Williams sisters). 'Stubborn' is the term i've heard used most often. Hopefully Andy will get em next year. That second set tiebreaker though. Andy doesn't seem to get the first serve in when he needs it most. And Andy doesn't seem to be able to return Roger's second serve to
start a 'neutral' point nearly enough. But Roger got all his first serves in in those big moments in the 5th set.
