Trial and error is the human way I could also concoct a hypothetical slightly reversed of that needy simp the OP described. A guy thinks he finds his true love but then meets another woman even better who pursues him, and he eventually leaves her thinking that this is real true and much better love, rinse & repeat. I feel theorizing and philosophizing things like this at times is a waste since I don't think I'll find it. Not that I can't but I just won't. A lot of ppl think they can find true _____ but exactly how d you know you actually found it? Don't say you just know, absolutes can't work that way. There's always more, there isn't a limit. Everyone has seasons in their lives, and in those different seasons, we learn things that change our definition of what is right for us, so what someone thought were their true love before may have changed from that last "season". Ex) 500 Years ago, the Western World was CONVINCED, 100% scientific fact, that the world was flat. There were relatively few skeptics about this and for the most part it was believed to be concrete scientific knowledge. However now that all appears to be a load of bs. We look back at our society and claim that we used to be primitive, uneducated, dumb and that NOW what we know is true. Logically, we can assume that in the future we will say the same thing about our scientific beliefs now even with validated empirical evidence and technological advances. ---- basically, this is questioning the nature of truth and ^those are 2 applications to modern society. Post your thoughts on this. look how much people get married n divorced, or kill off their spouse. they thought they were in love, or instead of walking in love they fell in love. to me love is juss an overrated word. you can love anything. the man in your example juss thought he was in love thats why he felt stupid when he moved to the next. if the first girl came back, he would still be with the next girl and probably take what he can get from the first one, so he doesn't feel stupid again. his ego made him believe he was in love the first time around.
