If Ricky Rubio and his management were completely open to the idea of him being drafted by and playing in Memphis, these whispers wouldn't be out there...

He may well pull a 180 and end up playing in Memphis if they draft him, but that doesn't mean his preference RIGHT NOW is anywhere but Memphis...

He cant shoot, cant run a half court offense and cant guard a chair. now tell me what teams want that for a starting PG?


why would the wolves just give away love for the number 2 pick? he has a brighter future in the NBA then Rudy gay because he knows his role plays it to a T and has a bball IQ. then add in Kevin McHale loves dude.

There are plenty of Minnesota fans who would love to have Conley. Just look at what some of their fans are saying in other places on the internet. I know Portland still wouldn't mind having him either. In the 2nd half of the season, the guy played ball even in a horrible coaching system. Just by you saying he can't shoot and can't run a half court offense shows that you only probably saw him during his rookie year or maybe even the first half of last season. He shot 41% from downtown last season.

He split half of the season splitting minutes between him and Lowry to prove that he was the better of the two. I will say that his defense isn't that good in terms of fighting through the pick and roll and one-on-one because of his size and strength. He can definitely rebound well for his size (ala TJ Ford) and when he wants to he can just about get pass in PG in the league. Seen it many times last year. I'm not the biggest Conley fan, but when a guy works hard and shows it then you got to give him credit. His ceiling won't be as high as some people thought heading into the draft, but he's definitely starting PG material.

Why wouldn't Gay + 2 for Love + 6 wouldn't make sense for the Twolves? A front line of Gay / Jefferson / Thabeet wouldn't make sense?

I have no problem with Chad Fraud thinking we will take Thabeet, but his reasoning is idiotic.

There have been some rumblings around the league that they were talking to Memphis for what would be Kevin Love for the No. 2 pick. But from what I can gather, that's pretty bogus. The Wolves do like Rubio ... but there are all sorts of problems with them trading away Love ... the most obvious is that Love can't be traded back to the team that traded him in the first place for one year. So anything like that would have to happen after the draft. And, I'm not sure that Love is a perfect fit with Marc Gasol. They need more of a long, athletic shot blocker like ... Hasheem Thabeet!

What makes him think Gasol can play PF as slow as he is? A Gasol and Thabeet frontline would be the slowest, most foul prone frontline in the league. I still don't like drafting need over talent anyways. The whole point of the draft is to get the best talent IMO. You get your needs via trade and free agency. That's why I'm glad Memphis traded Love for OJ.
