LO is the only one I don't agree with. He has some other business ventures going on, so at least he's not trying to burn his money

-I heard Pippen is having financial troubles, any truth to that??????
-I am surprised Barkley hasn't gone broke due to his gambling problems -Its amazing how Jordan lost 167 Mill in the divorce settlement, has a gambling problem, has not touched a basketball in 5 years, 11 since his hay day, and is still in the top of all those most money made list for athletes. -A few people said Lebron, for some reason I can't see him doing it, he seems to be going that Michael, Magic, Tiger route, he is constantly bringing up the fact he wants be an Athlete billionaire but then again, ya never know TEAM CLEVELAND: BROWNS, CAVS,
INDIANS, AND OHIO STATE

If he were a true knucklehead, I'd say so. He's not. But he is extremely naive and he's displayed a stunning lack of judgement which is not all that amazing considering his age. He's rolled through money (I heard from a good source that the kid was sleeping at Verizon Center for several nights as rookie because he couldn't pay rent), he's out on every single road trip whether there's a game the next night or not and he obviously doesn't have a good read on females. Link this is from 2 years back, but still....

I think you guys underestimate the lifestyle these guys are living. Half of them have agents who scheme, the other half have too many family members in their
pockets. After the cars, a stable crib and taxes most of these guys are NOT set for life. I heard Troy Hudson the other day, and he was saying how much money
these guys go through on a daily basis. He says Flip helped him with finances, and such not only that NBA players get paid monthly in equal amounts to up to
2/3 of their contract I believe? So even if they are "broke" they are never really broke.
Edit: NBA money goes fast. Especially with the intelligence of half these guys. My Blog

kix4kix wrote: and besides...your whole statement is contradictory. You start off trying to assume people don't understand the type of "lifestyle" these guys lead...then you say they are not set for life due to expenses like agent fees, mortgages, etc...then you say even if they are broke, they aren't "really" broke.. so what is it? |

I couldn't agree more. Still when you have guys that get 3 year deals then are out of the league (70%) of players. I mean people act as if once you hit the
draft you made it, in a sense sure you have, but few of these guys make it on their own. I have a friend who is dealing with this first hand it is actually
kind of sad.

DoubleJs07 wrote: True it is contradictory, I admit when I am wrong. I guess my point is that it is not that HARD to go broke when you have money, we see this time and time and again with musicians artists all of the above. However, by our standards they are never really broke. I hope that made more sense, as my first post was rather confusing. Again that is just my opinion, obviously I haven't experienced it My Blog |
