Brock has no ground game? The guy was an All-American wrestler. He has the ability to control people on the ground and pound them out. "Ground game" doesn't mean submission skills. Submission skills means submission skills.
RJJ would take Anderson Silva in MMA? Dude, what the..?
What the hell am I reading in here?
Chuck Liddell, who has EPIC takedown defense and is arguably one of the best standup fighters in MMA as recently been rendered useless because the MMA game has progressed so quickly.
It's not just whether or not you have ground skills. You have to consider being in the clinch. You have to consider standup defense from not only punches, but kicks, elbows and knees. You have to be able to work in a cage.
I'm not saying any of these world class boxers could not make it in MMA. I'm saying that when someone says that an elite boxer can compete with the elite Mixed Martial Artists more times than not is like saying track stars can be decent Wide Receivers in the NFL more times than not. And we know that doesn't happen.
It's such an ignorant statement to make, and truly speaks to the general public's lack of understanding when it comes to mixed martial arts.
