Notice how when people complain about these they don't compare them to the OG's they compare them to the 99 retro, so they are already comparing it to a shoe that wasn't EXACTLY like the original anyways. You guys are talking about a shoe that is 19yrs old, are you really expecting it to be made with the exact same materials and in the exact same way??? My favorite part of all the people complaining is that probably 85% of them never owned them in 89, or if they did they wore kid's sizes and half of that 85% weren't even alive in 89. They see pictures on the internet and hear other people talk about them and all of a sudden they are authorities on the subject.

You don't have to make major alterations to a product to the extent that it ruins the integrity of the finalized product. Yes that shoe is originally 19 years old and even the 1999 retros had some alterations as well, but does it make it acceptable for a company to short change us even the shape of the shoe? Leave the Nike Air off for the collectors fine! I understand that, but technology has improved vastly so I find it disturbing that a company can't conform to it's own sneaker model mold to bring this shoe out 9 years after its first retro. Instead they willingly decide to jack up the shape of the sneaker. Acceptable? Not in my book and especially so because AJIV's are generally liked.

I guess I am just realistic because if Honda decided to retro their 89 accord, it wouldn't be EXACTLY like it was when it was first made. It's a fact of life... Things change and you guys need to just start accepting it because all the complaining really isn't gonna do any good. The only way JB will change their policies is if people stop buying their products and that's not gonna happen. The fact is we (people on NT and shoe "collectors") are a small percentage of JB's customers, as long as they are making more and more money, it will never stop, just get worse...

I agree with you on the "stop buying" procedures which is why I'm not gonna get this package. But as an analogy, a product is a product regardless of what type of industry it comes from. Does Coca-Cola stop using their cola recipe from generations ago because it's 2008? NO! Have they made some alterations to their labeling and such? Absolutely! But the integrity of the product is still there. You don't hear people maaannn...Coke tastes a helluva lot different than it did 15 years ago. The point I'm making is that smart companies may make some alterations along the way but it shouldn't be to the extent that it starts to compromise the integrity of what the company used to stand for which is why you have so many disappointed people with the way these shoes came out. But again...it is JB here.
