New multi-branded sneaker and apparel store (Nike, Adidas, DC, etc.) in Greenbelt 3, level 2, next to Grappa's. Same people behind Toby's. Vans selection is limited but worth the visit.

so I'll be there in the PI for my yearly visits in about a week. I've always had someone to drive me around but this time I'd like to have my own ride to go around the city (yes, I know how it is, I spent 15 years of my life there)...would my international driver's license be valid to drive in the Philippines?

I know the $1 and $5 bills will come in handy, but just for knowing the "law", I'd like to know.

been a while. does anyone know where i could find some capiz christmas lanterns in the PI? or firms that export them to the US? i'm leaning towards the handmade pampanga or cavite versions for some friends here in the bay area. do they still make them in small, medium and large sizes? how much is retail for each?

Here's the plan folks. I'll be swinging by the bball game around 8pm at Serendra to say what up and snap some photos then head to Grappa's (2nd level Greenbelt 3) for the drinking session at 9pm. If you're not playing, you can go to Grappa's earlier than 9pm. 2 liter pitcher is only 210 pesos for tap beer (classic, weizen, dark) but I suggest you eat elsewhere first since Grappa's food is menh. Even if you don't drink alcohol, please do join us as we'd love to...
